Dear Carl,
Jean and I have commented several times about the really fine
day we had with you on Clark Fork last Wednesday. Having spent
a lot of time on drift boat oars myself, I can appreciate how
hard you worked to always have the raft in just the right
position.
I learned some things on that trip. Never to old to learn! I
can not say enough about the great lunch you laid out, and
your sharing flies with me - which I lost due to a hair
trigger! Embarrassing!
You have a first class operation.
Thank you again - perhaps we will do it again. 5 inches of
snow here in Red Lodge.

Dear Carl,
I apologize for the belated letter, but just wanted to thank
you again for the wonderful time that Tony and I had with you
this summer on our guided trip. We had gone with you on the
Clark Fork River right at the end of July. It was a most
enjoyable trip and actually fishing on the Clark Fork was the
highlight of our fishing in Montana this past summer. We
stopped by Flathead Lake, but you had not come in yet. The
weather was getting bad so we did not get to see you. I am
really interested in coming back again next summer and I will
be in touch as we start to firm up our vacation plans.
Thank you again for a
wonderful trip and I hope that you are having a good fall
season in Missoula.
P.S. If you ever need a
recommendation as far as your guide service you certainly can
feel free to use me as reference and we have told several of
our friends how good a time we had.
Sincerely, Jeff Chicola, M.D.

Dear Carl:
I finally have had a few
free moments to drop you a line and thank you and your group
for the outstanding job you fellows did on our recent hunt.
I really enjoyed hunting with you and I would like to commend
you on the professional manner in which you planned and
prepared everything down to the smallest detail. Everything
was very comfortable and the food prepared by Larry was
excellent.
I know that some of the group is planning to return this year
and I am sure that they have contacted you already. At the
present time Mitch, myself and 2 or 3 others are talking about
returning to hunt with your people in 1988, so I will be in
touch with you in the future.
Very truly yours,
James G. Wino (Jim)

Carl,
Thanx again for another
great hunt! I had a very good time this last season with you
and the group.
As usual, the food and
everything else wads excellent! The guides were very helpful
and helped me find a great buck. Let Bryan and Scott know I
had a great time and really appreciated all the help finding
the deer and everything else after we got the deer. It was a
day I will not soon forget!!
The weather was the coldest
I have ever hunted in, but I still had a great time and would
not hesitate to come back again, or recommend your hunt to
anyone who might ask. Feel free to use my name, address, and
phone number for reference in any of your brochures.
Find enclosed a few pictures
from the hunt, and if you get the pictures back that you took
I would like to get a copy of those as well.
By the way, send me some
information on the Elk hunts you and I talked about after the
hunt, as I am very interested. Also could you give me the
name, address, and phone number of the Taxidermist that is
doing the work for me.
Hope your year goes well for
you and the family, and looking forward to hunting with you
again in the future.
Thanx again!

Hi Carl,
I personally want to thank you for a fantastic hunt. I
can't begin to explain to people what a great time we all had.
We talked about it on the way home and couldn't come up with
anything we didn't like about your operation. The
accommodations you had for the hunters were comfortable and
clean. The food served was excellent. I sure as hell didn't
walk away hungry after a meal. The guiding we all thought was
top notch. I don't think there was a thing anyone of your
guides wouldn't have done for us. You have a great bunch of
guy's working for you, which I think, really adds to a hunt. I
don't know if anyone ever writes to you after a hunt and tells
you of their guide, but I wanted you to know about ours. Rusty
was great. He took his time, knew his way around, and knew the
way we were used to hunting. He was also good company and
personable. I know Bob also thought the same of Scott. He was
matched perfect for Bob.
Scott and myself are definitely coming out again, this time
for the trophy hunt. I don't know what Bob has planned. We
both know how to plan and what to bring along next time. The
first priority on my list will be a good pair of boots. My
feet were extremely sore, man they downright hurt. The day you
guided me, I was hurtin pup and tried to ignore the pain. I
know it won't be next year, but you will see us in the very
near future. I have a bow hunt planned for New Jersey in
January, steelhead fishing in New York in April, bass and pike
fishing in Canada for July, a bow hunt in Ohio in October, and
duck hunting the salt marshes in New Jersey in December, along
with vacation with my wife. So I'm a little busy for next
year. Please keep in touch with me and let us know how you
did, and if Montana changes any of their license drawings. I
sent along a picture of you that I thought was good. If you
have a picture of all the deer that were in camp I sure would
appreciate it if you could send us one. Also I would like to
see one of your tapes.
Well again Carl, thanks for a memorable hunt. If you stay in
contact with the guys, tell them all - thanks!
I hope your wife is feeling better and everything turned out
ok.
Please stay in
touch.
I wish your family a Merry
Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
Take care Carl,

Dear Carl,
Just a brief not to repeat how much I enjoyed the fishing last
Saturday. You surely do know how to make a novice feel
comfortable. Everything about the day was great. I hope that I
can return to Montana some day soon to enjoy more of the Big
Sky country

Dear Carl,
Thanks again for a memorable trip and enclosed are some of the
photographs that we took. I really enjoyed fishing with you
and I am looking forward to a return trip next year. The
weather was nice and the river as usual was beautiful. Best of
luck to you and your family during the winter and I will be in
touch about returning next September.

Dear Pat and Glann,
It was good seeing you in Lolo and both Mary Jean and I
enjoyed having dinner with you two a Guy’s Steakhouse.
We were quite pleased with the guide, Carl Mann. Enclosed, you
will find a brochure on his services as well as a picture of
one of the large fish I caught on the Bitterroot. He was a
great guide and really knows his business. We wouldn’t
hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
Again, we enjoyed
seeing you both and hope to meet again in the future.
Sincerely,
Bucky Woodward

Hi Carl,
I hope you’re going to run a camp like you did this year—it
looks like six of us would like to come back next year for
mule deer – myself, my brother Rich and four other guys. This
time I think we’ll fly and meet you wherever you want us to.
Let me know if the terms are the same.
We didn’t get any elk. The
weather was so nice that they were way back in. We didn’t have
horses, but you know we had a good time.
I can’t say enough about the
good time we had with you guys. It couldn’t have been better.
Thanks
again,

Dear Sir: (Montana
Department of Fish Wildlife & Parks)
It has been my good fortune
to visit your state on four separate occasions over the past
six years on successful hunting trips. The success of these
trips is due to the excellent guides from the firm of Montana
Experience Outfitters.
The trips have all been
efficiently organized from start to finish. I received letters
before the trip with recommendations from the guides as to
what to bring, even down to details about weather conditions
for the time of year I anticipated hunting in. The hunts have
always been well thought out in advance as to where the deer
can be found and all the guides are familiar with the area
being covered. At night it was always nice to have a hot meal
and good company to look forward to.
My wife and I are planning a
trip to Montana this summer to see what you state looks like
in the warmer weather. We are both looking forward to this
trip and the people we meet due to the great experience I have
already had with Carl, Jim and John. They are an asset to you
state’s tourist business and I would recommend them to any
hunters interested in a successful hunt.
Sincerely,

Dear Carl,
Meant to write sooner, but
time has gotten away from me again.
Thank you for the super hunt trip.
The accommodations and food and hunt were worth every dime we
spent. So, if you need any recommendations feel free to call
or write to me.
Our whitetail hunt here in Wisc. Was very poor this year. Too
many hunters, choice permits given. You shoot all the does and
you won’t have any bucks.
I am happy with the 4x4 I got on the hunt.
It looks like I won’t make it in 1988 like I said. The
daughters wedding is costing many bucks. Will try for 1989.
Sat. eve. Now. Thanks you for the pictures. Will go in a frame
and on the wall.
We really enjoyed being with all of you in camp. John did a
very nice job for me.
Merry Christmas & Happy New
Year
Must Go For Now – Will Write
Later
Sincerely yours,
Your Hunting Buddy

All four of you: Carl, Jim,
John and Jerry will always have a special place in my memory
