The fly fishing float trips
offered by Carl Mann are one of the most beautiful and relaxing ways to
experience Montana. While drifting along a remote area of
the Bitterroot or Clark fork river, one often gains a unique
sense of freedom and solitude similar to those experienced
by the early explorers, Lewis and Clark.
Whether fishing for wild rainbow or brown trout or hoping to
catch a glimpse of a bear, eagle, beaver, bighorn sheep, or
other riverside inhabitants, the fly fishing trips that Carl Mann’s Montana
Experience Outfitters offer provides one with a satisfying
taste of the frontier.
The fly fishing on Bitterroot,
Clark fork, and Blackfoot rivers can be compared with some
of the best found anywhere in Montana. The thrill of
watching a gorgeous big fish leaping several feet into the air as he strips off yards
of line is a feeling you’ll not soon forget! We dry fly fish 95% of
the time. If you are a dry fly fishing enthusiast the Missoula area
rivers are for you, where big fish are the norm. Montana fly fishing experience. We offer
personal instruction, great food, quality equipment and excellent fly
fishing. We usually catch big Rainbow, Cutthroat, and Brown trout.
All boats accommodate 2 fisherpersons very comfortably, with swivel
seats front and back. A nice way to float a 10-mile stretch of
scenic river.
The recipe for a perfect day of fishing includes a shore lunch fit
for a king! Non-alcoholic beverages and a variety of snacks
are also provided throughout the day.

Fishing is what we do best!

Carl Mann’s Montana Experience Outfitters offers one of Montana’s
best areas in the state for big bucks. The Northeast corner of
Montana has the highest success rate for big bucks anywhere in the
state. 98% of our hunters go home with a trophy mule deer,
whitetail, elk and/or an antelope buck. We know this is a bold
statement, but after outfitting for over 30 years we don’t know of any
other place where you may see as many as a 100 deer in a single day - and 20
of them will be bucks. Out of that 20, about 2 or 3 may be wall hangers.
After you have filled your buck tag with your big buck we are glad
to take you out after wily coyotes or perhaps some bird hunting.
For
those that like to fish we will take you to some prime trout, pike,
small mouth bass, and salmon spots. Yes, we can do all of this in a
4 or 5 day hunt.
We offer 3 types of hunts for mule deer, antelope, elk, and white
tail:
Camp Hunts

Our first couple of hunts is conducted in the most comfortable camp
atmosphere you can imagine. Wall tents have wood floors and
carpeting. Wood stoves and “Mr. Heaters” are in every tent. Large
cots with 4inch foam pads, and electricity. The cook tent and dining
area is 16 x 24. This is where the appetizers, meals and the war
stories from the days hunt all take place. It is a great place to
come home to with a friendly atmosphere and great home style meals.
Turkey, steak, and ham dinners, just to mention a few. Breakfast,
lunch and dinner, three times in a day where you will not be
disappointed. Don’t expect to loose weight on the hunt!! This camp
is located right in the heart of mule deer and antelope country. You
will be serenaded each night by the sound of coyotes off on the
distance ridges, and treated to the beautiful Northern Lights.

Motel Hunt

Our second hunt operates out of the historic
Fort Peck Hotel. This is
where hunters get the feeling of a real hunting lodge. Fort Peck
Hotel allows Linda, our cook, to still make those same good meals we
had out at hunting camp. This hunt also accommodates those hunters
that may have medical needs to make their stay more comfortable.
This hunt coincides with the rut, which brings out the big bucks,
and many other opportunities such as late season water fowl, and
coyote hunting. We have the same success in our last several hunts
as we do in the first hunts. Each hunt, depending on when you come,
has something unique to offer about that time period. Whether it be
upland game, coyote hunting, or waterfowl hunting we intend to keep our
clients experiencing all that Montana has to offer.
Private Ranch Elk and
Whitetail Deer Hunt

Our third hunt is at a private ranch with very limited number of tags
available. Five trophy white tail and five bull elk tags are available
each year. The five elk tags are used at the beginning of the archery
elk season. We may see as many as a dozen bulls in one day. Plus,
many big mule deer bucks are also available at this time. Later in
the season we use the same ranch for a rifle trophy whitetail hunt.
Your accommodations here are very comfortable in an old ranch home
provided to us from the rancher. Of course, as in all our other
hunts, Linda is here to make your meals a part of a great experience
that you will have hunting Montana with Carl Mann’s Montana
Experience Outfitters.
Montana non-residents deer and elk hunting licenses are sold a year
in advance so don’t wait to make your plans. Book a Montana hunt
